So the big vinyl sort continues, and in cataloguing this EP on Ogs I see it's been getting some overdue love in recent years. Tydirium fools you into thinking it's gonna be blissful, switches to a heavy rhythm section, then brings both strata back together to a serious funkt up dance inducing ride. Masterful arrangement. Exodus is a bit more fidgety and insistent, reminds me of Vince Watson productions as it goes. Teardrops has a deeper tech house vibe: pounding kick driven percussion in to which a lead synth chord pattern blends - this crescendos and is joined with an arp (prob a 101 or 106?) that carries through to track end.

The name Tydrium comes from the name of a type of shuttle from the film Star Wars.

Completely agree with previous comments - all three tracks are excellent.

I first heard of this release through an equally excellent Darren Emerson tape, of which "Tydirium" (so simple, yet so effective!) was one of my favourite tracks.

I suspect that the tape which baj mentioned is this one:

- from the days when magazines still gave away cassettes, and classic 12"s were released every week (or so it seemed).

Those were the days!

They don't make 'em like this anymore. Three excellent tracks, all doing different things, in classic Rachmad style. Tydrium was on an old Darren Emerson tape I got from a British buddy, and it's a great linear techno track, whereas Teardrops is more laid back in this genre and Exodus deeper and less straightforward.

Very tasteful early Steve Rachmad release.

Teardrops is just an incredible tune! Starts with a dry and vigorous rhythm and slowly builds with more and more layers of melody fading in until the total culmination in harmony. The song shows a rare balance of pure force and beauty, all the way through accompanied by a warm and deep dub effect.

Tydirium and Exodus on the flipside are both quality songs but not as special as the A-Side!
