Mermaid were a Danish rock band featuring sax player Karsten Vogel of Burnin' Red Ivanhoe and Secret Oyster. The first 4 tracks presented here are from the is the debut album by the band 999, released during the punk era. It contained such singles as September 1977's I'm AliveQuite Disappointing and October 1977's Nasty NastyNo Pity. The album also contained Emergency, which was the start of the band's more distinctive approach to their previous punk sound. All tracks are written by Nick Cash and Guy Days, except where noted.
