Songs to Learn & Sing is a compilation album by Echo & the Bunnymen which was released on 11 November 1985 and featured all of the singles the band had released up to that point. This collection recalls the rise and steadfast career of the band, highlighting the Bunnymen's work between 1980 and 1985 and collecting the most prominent tracks that made the band the waxed poetics the British press hailed them to be specifically on older cuts like Do It Clean and Rescue. Frequent use of the band's classic drum machine or echo was also a major feature in Bunnymen tracks, especially on the vibrant dance cuts Never Stop and Back of Love. Album 1985 11 Songs. Along with Julian Cope and the Teardrop Explodes, Echo and the Bunnymen redefined psychedelia in Britain for the 1980s crowd, adding icy guitar riffs to productions that eyed the dance floor with both passion and suspicion, ushering in a new wave of UK pop in the process. This 1985 collection draws together the highlights and British hits from the bands first four albums, including two single-only releases, 1980s The Puppet and 1983s Never Stop, and the previously unissued track Bring On the Dancing Horses that eventually appeared on the 1986 soundtrack for Pretty In Pink. The Beatles didnt live there anymore. Liverpool at the end of the 70s was hardscrabble and hardly swinging, but from its post-punk bohemia came a music scene tye-dyed by psychedelia and other 60s influences. Of all its visionaries, none grew so mighty in the 80s as Echo And The Bunnymen. Beyond the riddle of the bands name lies a body of work that sparkles even 30 years after the end of their original run, a catalog full of encounters with mystery, prophecy, romance, and the sublime. They were a group of four: Les Pattinson on bass, Peter de Freitas on drums, Will Sergeant on guitar, and
